ROSTO abbreviation means Russian defense sporting&technical organization.
ROSTO established in September 1991 as a national NGO and assignee of DOSAAF (1951–1991) — analog which was existing in Soviet epoch (and before DOSAAF was OSOAVAKHIM, 1918–1951)… So in fact ROSTO is the oldest NGO in Russia.

ROSTO’ goals stated as «assistance in developing country’s defensive capacity through developing military and patriotic citizens’ education, aviation and technically based sports, technical creative work of youth etc». Today ROSTO has about 3 millions of members

Through ROSTO’ school (actually, through ROSTO’ predecessors) passed legendary soviet pilots — Chkalov, Gromov, aircraft and spacecraft designers — Yakovlev, Antonov, Korolev, cosmonauts — Gagarin, Tereshkova, Popovich, Leonov.

Captured ROSTO training aerodrome located near Tomsk and gathering sky’ admirers — youth interested in jumping with parachutes and «check themselves», their senior colleagues — pilots who’s able to show highest level of aerobatics.

Humans touch the ground only with their feet. Their heads and hearts are closer to sky, such is the project. Little humans grow upwards and fly in their dreams; as adults, former children love to return to these dreams and these flights… And the sky always has room for those who come back, and for their favorite toys: made by hands and in factories, with or without little motors. The big humans like to play with the sky launching radio-controlled model planes at the gathering of fellow enthusiasts, or showing aerial stunts on training aerodrome free-falling from the sky to earth…
